You are my heaven

Facts:

- it's 9:39 am
- 84°F/29°C

Well the weather is not too bad for 9:30 in the morning, I believe. Gosh, there is so much to catch up on. Let me get started, I hope I remember anything. I believe thats one of the worst things about memories in life, they just slip away from you and you realize when they're already fadeing (don't know if that is spelled right or not).

My beloved sister helped me getting all the pictures, I took since I'm here, together. So here is one from the very beginning of my visit (you can tell, because I look soo pale!)
No, my finger is not missing, I tucked it in my pocket. Lol
Even tho Galveston doesn't have the prettiest beach/water (and there are people coming here to be at the beach..I would rather go somewhere where the water actually looks pretty. haha) I like being there. We (Jordy, her bf, Syd, and me) took a trip to the beach and I believed we stayed all day.
I found some other picture from the 4th of July. When I think back I remember it as a day where I ate way too much, spend it at the wrong house, but still had a good time (and Syd being super drunk. haha)

On her birthday Syd had a tournament (saturday and sunday) and she was kinda mad, because she wanted to spend her birthday at the beach or something like that and not on the softball field, but it turned out to be a wonderful day for her, because her parents got her the car she was wanting, a white kia soul. I believe shes in love with it (she cleans it like every other day. The gasmileage might be better than on her mustang, but all the water for cleaning balances it out again. haha).

However, on july 10th Jordy, her bf, Destiny, Syd, and me went dancing for the first time ( since Syd turned 18 we were able to go). Well whatever you have in mind right now about dancing, I give you the advise to completely forget about it. Dancing in texas is...different. Dancing in texas is about dancing to country songs with a partner and two-step (it's kinda like formal dancing in Germany, you have a partner, the male is leading) . Two step is super easy, but it was weird for me, to "go out" and expect some club close to the ones in Germany and what I find is a country dance club. But experiences must be made and it made me realize how different cultures can be, even when you find so many things they have in common. Of course there are clubs where you dance like we do in Germany, but they are for the ones 21+ (21 and over is [btw] an awesome movie. Go watch it, you'll be about to pee in your pants while watching it, I promise!). Anyway, dancing was fun, even though I didn't even know how (I two stepped once, last year during the wedding with my cousin kyle, but I couldn't really remember, and since I can't dance formal in Germany either it wasn't something I was confident about). Well some people taught me and I learned. :)

Well some day before we left for the river Syd and me went to academy (absolutely in love with that store, I wish we had one in Germany..) and goofed around, just like we used to and here is the result:

I believe I would make a good softball player with that helmet. I don't know if I told yall, but Syd and me have been going running every day (in the evening, though, because then it cools off) and I love that.

Oh gosh, I just accidently deleted the passage I wrote, explaining this picture..so I'll sum it up for yall. This was Syds birthday dinner on saturday the 13th and we went to the rainforest cafe (we waited for 1h and 30min just to be seated, which I think is very rude). I was super hungry and in a bad mood, because I get kinda angry when I am hungry and don't have any food (people who know me might know. I'm sorry). Well the girl on the right is Destiny, Syds friend. She's super funny, but exhausting, because she talk ALL THE TIME, but she's super sweet.

And the day after we left for the river. I was excited for that week, because I love the river and after the river I would just have to wait 7 more days to see my loved ones in Germany again.

Well the river was awesome. We kinda had bad weather from sunday- wednesday, but after that texas weather came back to us and I still got tan. We were a big group this year, because Mr. Jeff married Mrs. Annie and she has 3 kids her own, so that added 4 extra people. But it was super fun and I am glad I was able to go.

This is Syd and me after our daily run and workout. haha. I decided to run a marathon on october 27th. I talked to Jordy about her running the marathon last year in december and what all she did for it. And Jordy isn't hte person that runs every day or super much, so I was wondering if I could run one, since I always wanted to, but never thought I'll be able to do it. So she gave me hope and now I find myself creating a running schedule, looking up nutrition tipps and actually signing up. Well I'll sign up on monda with my mom, but still. I'm excited and scared, because I wanna do it and be proud of myself, but I don't wanna see myself fail. But I guess its all up to me, so its gonna be my fault if I fail and only my success if I don't. I'm definitely ready to start doing my running workout. haha.
I am also ready to see my mom, Josh, and my friends in Germany again. I miss them a lot. This visit made me realize how much I love Texas and my family, but also how stubborn and 'fake' people here are. not neccessarily fake, but just not honest in a way I don't like. Idk, America is just different and I can accept and love that.

You make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise

Facts:

- It is 11:50 am
- 87°F/31°C

It has gotten colder and today we're supposed to get some rain, lets see how that goes. I still don't get used to the opinion tat rain is something good over here. Lol. I guess I'll always keep my german roots, which I absolutely don't mind anymore. Well let's see what has happened during the last couple days..
I survived a super stressful airplane ride, even if I arrived 6 and a half hour later than actually planned, but I was glad to finally be here and fall in my bed. Even tho I was scared I won't wake up that day again I woke up (earlier than everybody else) at 9 am. I was pretty proud of myself and ready to start my first day in TX. We went to el Ranchero for breakfast/lunch and I was so happy to eat chips and real salsa again. Oh gosh, I can't even put in words how much I love texan and mexican food. I never thought I would when I first got here, because I was kinda a picky eater.
On sunday Jordy, her boyfriend, Syd, and me went to Galveston beach all day and I got myself a little tan. Haha. Still need to work on it though, because I wanna be as tan as I was when I got back home.

Yesterday I went and ate with my soccergirls and it was so much fun. I missed them and I'm glad I was able to see them, before some of them go off to college all over the country. And then me and Syd went to Academy to buy some shorts and shirts. Well I left a bunch of money there. Haha. And Jordy and me made cake balls (my first ones, I wanted to do them with her so I know how to and can bake them at home, too) and cupcakes for the 4 of July.

Well the soccergirls told our waiter that it was my birthday and so all the employees sang me a birthday song. I was SO embarressed, but oh well, I'll leave La Porte and they have to still live here. Lol.
To sum it up I can say that I like being back and that it feels like I never left, but I also love all my german friends and family and I'm glad I come back to them in 3 weeks.
