It's all about you (and what you make out of it)

Facts:

- it's 8.37 p.m.
- 84°F / 28,8°C

So, we've good weather. Today I was running with Sydney ( 2 miles in the sun! Omg, thats a way harder than in the ac (aircondition) rec :D:D ). But it felt so good.
Ok, I'll tell you some more about the spirit week, how I promised. And I hope you've a lot of time, because I've so much to tell.

Spirit week: awesome!
I mean I could never imagine how this will be, because in relation with german schools is it....incredible. Monday was cowboy monday and Sydney and me dressed up ( omg, my boots were so ugly ;D )

and my hair was making me really mad this day. :D
-whatever
It was a great experience, because almost the whole school was dressed up. Tuesday was twin-day and Syd and me wanted to make some cute shirts, so Mayra, Sydney and me went shopping.
And at walmart ( I love this place ) I've got the idea:

In the back was the facebook thumb and we wrote "Like us". We got a lot of compliments.
And we had so much fun monday after school, it was nice to hang out with Mayra and she's playing soccer, so I asked her some questions about the training a.s.o.
It was a really good afternoon.

And the best outfit was on wednesday : Nerd day :D
I saw so many good outfits ( I'm sorry, I can't show you the yearbook pictures, because I can't download them -.-).

Thursday was 70's for the juniors, but I didn't dressed up, I just wore the hair-band you can see at the first nerd picture ( we were messing around in the night ;D ).
And the friday will ever be in my mind. I mean, WOW. It was awesome.
The whole school was in different subjects designed, and I was impressed. And the official started playing music in the hallways. It was a great feeling to be in his school.
I mean everyone was dressed for deer hunting (because we were playing against deer park and this is our biggest concurent and thats why we had the spirit week. So all were dressed up for hunting with orange, black and yellow elements.).
It was amazing.

pep rally

This was after the little video, because the game against deer park got enough votes to make it in the TV. So we saw the "preview" :D
I don't know if you can see it on the LaPorte webside (and the "L" we make with our fingers [like in germany for loser] stands here for Lp, our school. I like it), because it's awesome how popular football is here. All this stuff was "just" for a football game.

The game was awesome!
As Jordy came home on friday we went to the game and it was...wow. We were screaming the whole time and in the end we won in the overtime.
It was a great game.

After the game I went with Sydney and two other grils to my first american houseparty and let me say this: It was good!
In the early saturday morning my whole family went to Jordys college and there I saw my first college game, it was good, but the Lp game was better ;)

And we were on the ranch again and Sydney told me we'll be almost every weekend, if the hunting season starts. I'm really excited, because I love it there.

So, I saw a lot this past week/-end. And I'm so happy to be here.
I really wanna say this, because I know that I've a lot of luck with everything.
I mean my family is such a great family, texas is awesome and my school is full of spirit and nice people and I know that this isn't naturally and I'm very thankful.

We're paying with love tonight

Facts:

- it's 4.45 p.m.
- 77,5°F / 25,2°C

It's raining. In Texas is rain something good ;D.
On Thursday I had my first sleepover, because we were baby sitting Lakin. She lives in the "neighbourhood" with her mom and I really like them.
Lakin is in 3rd grade now and very sweet.
We brought her to the dance training ( they are dancing like cheerleader, but called anything else. Don't know what).
Sydney and me watched her and they are really good. The group consist of 30 girls, and the most are younger than 11 years.

On friday Jordi came home and saturday was my YFU stuff. It was really good. I met some nice people and we talked about improtant things, like the different between our cultures.
Because there are a lot, like one japanese girl sampled, and I agree with her. Even the smallest thing can be different, like free time (which is actually a big thing :D).
Americans don't use their free time, they hang around and don't do anything.
An other example is the bathroom door, a closed door signalize here, that there is someone in. In Japan is the door ever closed.
This sounds unimportant, but this are the little things in life, who could bring confusion.
I am pleasent that my whole host family were there with me.
Did I told you, that I met the belgian guy there agian?
I did, and his english is a way better and Jordan, Sydney and me are in love with his accent. ;)
I also met some german guys and Sebastian, who flew with me.
Well, it was a nice experience and I look very forward to the next "party" ( I think it's the Halloween party :) ).

I've the america flag in my hand (that's why it looks so curious)

Jordi and me

After this meeting we all went to olive garden (an italian restaurant). It was awesome, I'm absolutely in love. I ate chicken with mozzarella and of course: spaghetti! And after this we all got some chocolate (mint chocolate, but it was chocolate). This was the first chocolate I had here.
Americans have good food, but horrible chocolate.
As we were back home Jordan, Sydney and me went running.
- I started running ( In germany I tried, but I was too undisciplined, now I've Sydney and I can run :D)
We try to run 2 miles per day. :)

And today I was in church with Jordan and Sydney. It was interessting, but different.
You can't compare they with german churches.
They look completely different and the worship is ... different.
As we went in there was a women, who keep the doors open for you and they greet you with live music. Most sang with them and raise their hands and after two more songs the priest started to talk.
I looked around me:

The pink quadrangle are the area for the projector. And it is huge!
Under this is the stage, where the artists perfome, the left box is the drums (yeah, drums in a chruch). In front of the stage is a little podium for the priest and in the right corner are the "DJ's". I don't know what they are, but they've an apple laptop and headphones there.
In the background is a clincer house.

this is the church

Yeah, it was a great experience.

This week is spirit week in school. And we have a:
- cowboy monday
- twin tuesday
- nerd wednesday
- 50's (I think) thursday
- Lp friday (orange, black and white )

Spirit week is awesome. The whole school get dressed like the themes. And for what?
For football. It's awesome. American schools have such a great spirit.
We've this spirit week this week, because our football team plays against Deer Park and they are our "enemy".
So we've to support our team and show our spirit. I think it's an amazing thing.
And because I'm in the yearbook class I get all the photos.
Be curious about it! ;)

just promise that you'll never forget me

Facts:

- it's 8.25 p.m.
- 84°F / 28,8°C

Yes, it sounds cold, but it's nearly 8.30 p.m. :)
I'm good here, I really am.
This weekend I met a lot of people (family ;D) and I can't imagine all their names, but they all are nice and I like them.
And I start loving Sydney as my sister. I'm so happy, because I am such a lucky person.
I've a great family, where everyone cares and I've such a great sister. She's really like a sister for me (how I imagine would a sister be). We can talk about EVERYTHING, really everything and we have a lot fun together.
I'm sorry that I can't get you an example, but this would be to embarrassing.-for both of us. :D:D

I photographed my locker for you and some other stuff.

this is my new blouse
The last week / -end I've such a lot homework, that I couldn't post. But now I want to tell you a lot.
You already heard some about the family-thing, but now it's getting excited.

School is getting better, but biology bothers me, because I haven't a clue what mrs. Ipsen is talking about. I mean, I understand her and if she explain it, it makes sense, but when I walk out of the class I haven't a clue.
You know? It really bothers me, that I'm that stupid ( Sydney and I say: schtupiid ).
But I don't want to change the class, I want to make it and I know I can.
So, I hope I won't mess this quiz at monday up and than the new topic starts and I've a spark of hope that it will be easier for me, if I'm there from the beginning.
I keep you up-to-date ;)

I was doing my homework (an excuse for my weird smile)

This is the only caramel popcorn here. With YOGURT?!?

a palm behind our garden :)

my new (second) blouse

How you can see: I shot some new pictures from Max and I saw a gecko ( I photographed it, because my mom and me saw a lot in greece and I see it as a symbol for hot weather. ).
I also photographed an electrical tower, because they look so different here and I told my mom about them at our last skype-date.

At the weekend 15 people come over, to meet me and I've to say that I was realy scared.
But it was nice, all were nice and it was fun. We (of course) ate some stuff and talked a lot.

In school it's getting better, I love maths and history and I won't getting comfi (first slang-word I learned from Sydney at my first night, as she asked me if my bed is "comfi" [comfortable] and I havn't any idea what she's talking about. But as Sydney explained it to me I thought about the thing Lena's dad told me; the word you asked will ever be in your mind. And it really is.) with the early school start.

junior's
like this the normal "trucks" (yeah, they're called trucks too) here look like
On the first picture you see the traffic light, which hangs up different. This was one thing I recognized on my first day.
And you can see the yellow schoolbus which looks exactly like the movies show it and I photographed the junior's parking lot. Markus and I talked about the cars here and the best car you can drive here is a truck, which has to be huge (all trucks here are much bigger than they big ones in germany). In my school a lot drive a truck and it looks quiet funny how everyone comes with his truck. The parking lot is empty, because it was very early in the morning. ;)
I also have to tell you some more about the two guys, the one in my english class is nice. We saw the two last days movies and he sat beside me. And the best thing: I understand him pretty good and he has two horses (HELLO?!?) and his parents some more.
But there is the other one in us history, he's smart and I still hope he's shy :D I still like him. ;)
How you hear, it's getting good and both are Tylor's :D
I'll tell you more, if there is more to tell. (press my thumbs ;D)

this is faith

Facts:

- it's 6.11 p.m.
- 87,1°F / 30,6°C

This morning was very cold, not even just the weather, everything. The alarm rings at 5.30 a.m. and Sydney didn't wake up and so I woke her finally up at 5.40 a.m.
But the day should be a good day, so we got into the car and started my second week in school.
the left car is Jordis truck

In school some pays me a compliment for my (nice/great) dress I was wearing.
At monday Jennifer, Jordan and Sydney took me to the mall, because I needed some new clothes/stuff and there we were:

- in a mall with a lot of shops

And now I've some nice and cute clothes ( I'll show you some in the following days ) aaaand some nice pair "tennis shoes".

It was very funny to go shopping with these nice girls and in two weeks ( I think ) Sydney and me go shopping again. :)
Jordan left us before we drove home, because she has to go back to college. I hope I see her soon, because I really like her, my sister ;D.

School was ok today ( yesterday was a day off school, because of labor day ) and I really like maths and us history.
I nearly know now where I've to go for the next class.
Anyway I don't asked any security man ( I think they remember my clueless, because whenever I pass their floor, they smile ) or teacher for my room and I can unlock my locker!
I got it! :D
I'm so proud of me, because in dance I've a locker and I ever asked Sarah ( she's in my french and dance class and very funny. A bit weird, but funny. ) to unlock it, but today I got it on my own!
And if you know how it's really easy.
So, it's getting better in school. :)
In one month is homecoming ball ( Sydney told me today) and I'm a bit nervous if anyone will ask me, because I can't imagine that any cute guy noticed me.
( I hope the one in my us history class ;D he's really cute, nice and he speaks clear enough for me, to understand :D :D)
I'll keep you up-to-date. ;P

After school Sydney and me went to the rec and we had our work out ( with my new shoes ) and than we went home.

Yeah, we had a lot of fun.
I'll do my homework now and keep you up-to-date with the homecoming thing ;)
