I loooove the texan weather. When I wake up in the morning I still show my german roots with the look out of the window, seeing clouds and ask Syd: Do you think it's cold?
And Syd just says: Mara, this is texas, it will never be cold again until october. And at like 6:45 we're walking out the door and it feels SO good in my t-shirt and pants.
Haaaa, I am in love, every day.
So soccer is over, but we're working on our beach bodies now during 7th period. I'm not sure if y'all in Germany have heard about insanity (it's an work out), but it's gonna make me have a niiiice body.
going prom dress shopping |
yup, we're cute |
Sooo, I've my prom dress, and let me say that: It's yellow, but I'm gonna look good. ;)
I really wanna tell y'all that God is great. Everything is gonna work
out, and he is the good full of miracles. We might won't understand
everything, but we gonna end up perfectly fine, in the right place, with
the perfect timing. Before I came here I didn't really believe in God, but he did so much for me. I mean I've always been so lucky, and now I know that I'm blessed.
I've to say I always thought you either believe in science or in God, but it's possible to believe in both. And I'm happy to have him in my life, or to know that I have him, because whenever somethign is really bothering me I can tell myself that he is gonna fix it and everything is gonna work out.
This past week I was off on wednesday - friday, because the juniors had to take their taks test (a test you've to take for the state in order to pass your junior year) and I didn't have to go to school.
So on thursday Chase mom (Miss Tonia) asked me if I wanna come over and spend some time with her, so I went over there at like 12 and we had such a good talk. It was great.
I always feel so welcome and so loved from his parents.

I really like being here and how I changed. I like me much more since I'm guided by God. It sounds so weird, but when I heard stuff like this before I always thought those people are dumb and just don't accept the reality. Which is so not true, maybe it's just the other way around. I was so negativ in life that I couldn't be happy for whatever gives people joy.
However, I'm much more positiv and try to not complain that much anymore.
I really wanna tell y'all a story a woman told me in bible study. I'm not gonna say her name, because I don't know if she wants others to know it was her, but this story was the last step, for me, to believe in him (yes, there are steps, it's not that you change from one to another day, its a process.).
Anyways, back to the story (haha, my biology teacher teached me how to get off-topic), she got pregnant and after quite awhile the doctor told her that there is something wrong with her baby. It ended up being very "dramatic", because the doctor said if she keeps the baby it is very likely for her to die, and if she would get an abortion she will be fine.
She went through a very rough time, trying to decide which is the right thing to do. And she went to a christian doctor to get another opinion, and he told her to not keep the baby. Well her husband told her he's gonna be there for her, no matter how she's gonna decide, and she decided to keep the baby and see what God's plan is.
She ended up loosing the baby, but she says she is SO glad she kept the baby, because she couldn't live with the fact that she killed her own child and didn't give it a chance and not trusting in God. And I mean she did trust in him, and he took it, it was his plan for her to not have the baby.
I think how she went through this very difficult time, trying to make the right decision and then just remembering what the bible says. She had so much faith, she put her life in his hands and he guided her through that.
I'm not sure if y'all as amazed as I am, but I'm pretty amazed.
The other day we had a water balloon fight in soccer and it was so much fun.

Alrighty guys, one more thing I wanna tell y'all. I found this really cool thing on my friends blog, it's like a challenge. You answer a question every day for a whole year, and then after a year you can see how much you changed, what you thought, and what your priorities were. I wish I would have discovered it earlier so i could reflect more about my exchange year, and just see how much I changed and how my views changed, but better now than never.
And I'm planing on posting the questions on here, so be ready for my answers. Some questions are hard for me to think about the "right" thing in this particular moment, but I'll always give my best to represent my opinion (sorry if it's just one side sometimes, sometimes one side of my mind takes up my whole mind and tries to make other opinions be quiet).
Day 5: something
you would change about the world
America and germany shoudln’t be so far apart. Haha. Make
people follow and believe in God.
Day 4: How you think your life would change if you achieved your dream
I think I would have new dreams. Without a dream
my life wouldn‘t make any sense, because what would I chase then? Dreams keep
people going.
Day 3: what you think your reason for being here is
I’m not sure, but God have brought me here so I am where I need to be/ and
where I belong.
Day 2: something that’s illegal but you think it should be legal
let’s switch that around and say: something thats legal that should be illegal;
smoking. It’s basically a drug like crack and doesn’t have any medical devices.
Day 1: hopes, dreams, and plans for the next 365 days with a picture of yourself
being successful in school, reaching my goals and never forget anything I‘ve
experienced in america; staying here forever, be born with the feeling of
belonging; run your race and don’t get out of your line (april, 26 2012).
